Fenton, Michigan Newborn Photographer
Ashley Szokola Photography
There are so many different poses in newborn photography. Being trained in how to safely execute them is so important. This is why I have taken many classes in newborn posing.
These are my top beanbag poses. Beanbag poses are done on a bean filled bag with a colored fabric drop on them. They are more about just the baby. I have done them naked (with a wrap covering the diaper) or even with outfits on.
My all time favorite beanbag pose is called fallen froggy (pictured above). This pose comes after froggy. I love their little hands cupping their cheeks. They look so sweet and innocent in this pose.
My next favorite pose is chin on hands (photo to the right). Chin on hands is exactly how it sounds. The chin rests on the baby's two hands. I love to add hats or bonnets to this pose.
I also love froggy. This pose is one of the harder poses in newborn photography. This is a composite (two photos put into one image). You have o be able to get the two images and then line them up to create this image. Baby is never unsupported in this pose. That would be very unsafe and you should never see a professional photographer doing that.
The last beanbag pose I love is called bum up. In the bum up position baby is laying on their stomach so their bum is up in the air. I love the little squishy cheek in this pose and the rolls that form on their back when curled up like this.
Ashley Szokola Photography always follows baby's lead on all poses. If baby isn't happy in a position we will always move on to another pose. All babies are different and are content in different positions. I plan for a few poses on the beanbag and also many sets with the use of my variety of props (bowls, baskets, buckets, and more). Join me next time for my favorite props to use!
Book your newborn session today. It is important to get on my calendar a few months before your due date. I am booking into June right now!
